Position Overview:
As an Educator at Topsail Aquarium, you will play a key role in delivering educational experiences to guests of all ages. This position focuses on leading programs, engaging visitors, and overseeing events such as birthday parties, field trips, and school visits, while also supporting daily operations.Key Responsibilities:
Educational Programming & Guest Experience:
Lead engaging educational programs, including field trips, school visits, and group tours.
Facilitate hands-on learning experiences and interactive activities.
Provide accurate, age-appropriate information about marine life and conservation.
Create a fun, welcoming, and educational environment for all guests.
Event Leadership:
Lead and coordinate birthday parties, private events, and special programs.
Serve as the primary host during events, ensuring smooth execution and a positive experience.
Set up and break down event spaces as needed.
Daily Operations:
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Maintain cleanliness of public areas.
Guide guests around the aquarium
Customer Engagement:
Interact with guests, answer questions, and enhance their overall experience.
Promote aquarium programs, memberships, and events.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with educators, aquarists, and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow all safety and operational protocols.
Qualifications:
Experience in education, public speaking, or working with children preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to confidently lead groups and manage events.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, interactive environment.
Passion for marine life, conservation, and hands-on learning.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
