Animal Husbandry Internship:

Please email us at Topsailaquarium@gmail.com if interested!

The Topsail Aquarium is proud to offer an amazing hands-on internship opportunity to provide the next generation with the tools needed to research, care for, conserve, and educate others.

The animal husbandry internship program serves as a way for college/university students to receive credits towards their degree. Our aquarium is accredited for most NC universities, including UNCW. Interns can receive up to 4 credits depending on their time commitments.

Interns will work directly with the Husbandry Director and assist in the daily husbandry routine, equipment maintenance, and other day to day tasks. Interns will also complete a capstone project over the semester either in animal husbandry, research, or conservation.

Applicants must be studying marine biology, wildlife biology, or other related fields.

If you’re studying another discipline outside of wildlife sciences, please email us, we customize every internship to better support your career path!

If interested send an email with Internship and the preferred semester of enrollment in the subject line. Ex (Internship Spring). Please include your resume and a brief paragraph on why you’d like to intern at the Topsail Aquarium.
