Northern Pine Snake

MEET DOMINO

The Northern Pine Snake is a robust, non-venomous snake known for its striking black-and-white pattern, which helps it blend in with the sandy soils and pine forests it calls home. Native to the eastern United States, particularly the coastal plain of the Carolinas and parts of New Jersey, it typically grows up to 6 feet long. This ground-dwelling snake is a skilled burrower, often taking shelter in abandoned burrows of other animals. It primarily feeds on small mammals, birds, and eggs, using its strength to constrict its prey. Despite its intimidating appearance, it is generally calm and prefers to avoid confrontation when encountered.
