The Corn Snake is a non-venomous snake easily recognized by its striking pattern of orange and black markings, resembling the colors of maize. Native to the southeastern United States, it is found in grasslands, forests, and farmlands, often hiding in old logs or under rocks. Typically growing up to 5 feet long, this snake is an excellent climber and hunts small mammals, birds, and reptiles, including eggs. Its vibrant pattern helps it blend into its environment, offering camouflage from predators. Known for its calm nature, the Corn Snake is mainly active at night, foraging for food and shelter in its natural habitat.
