A Splash of Color: New Fish and Corals Arrive in Our Reef Tank!

If you've visited our reef tank recently, you may have noticed it's looking a little brighter! We've welcomed several new fish and added a variety of beautiful corals that are already transforming the exhibit into an even more vibrant slice of the tropical ocean.

One of the newest stars of the tank is our Purple Tang. Native to the coral reefs of the Red Sea, this brilliant purple fish is not only stunning to look at but also serves an important purpose. Purple tangs are herbivores that spend much of their day grazing on algae, helping keep coral reefs clean and healthy. In the wild, they're an essential member of the reef "clean-up crew."

We've also added a Flame Hawkfish, and it's hard to miss! With its fiery red coloration and oversized personality, the flame hawkfish spends much of its time perched on rocks and corals, carefully watching everything happening around it. Unlike many reef fish that are constantly swimming, hawkfish prefer to hop from perch to perch, giving them a front-row seat to all the action.

Another colorful newcomer is our Orchid Dottyback, a small but bold fish with vibrant purple coloration to match our tang. Despite its size, the orchid dottyback is full of confidence and is often seen weaving in and out of the rockwork as it explores every nook and cranny of the reef.

Of course, the fish aren't the only new additions. We've introduced a wide variety of new corals, bringing even more color, texture, and movement to the exhibit. Although they may look like underwater plants, corals are actually colonies of tiny animals called polyps. Together, these incredible organisms build the massive reef structures that provide food and shelter for nearly a quarter of all marine species. Every new coral we add helps create a more natural and dynamic environment for our reef inhabitants while giving guests an even closer look at one of the ocean's most diverse ecosystems.
